Pep Guardiola has confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park that Kevin De Bruyne, Benjamin Mendy and John Stones are all back training following recent injury problems.
Manchester City travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on the back of their 0-2 defeat at home to Wolves before the international break. Ahead of the trip to London, Pep Guardiola stated that Kevin De Bruyne ‘is back’ – certainly a welcome boost given the lack of creativity shown in that defeat again Nuno Santos’ men.
Guardiola also confirmed defensive pairing Benjamin Mendy and John Stones have ‘trained well’ in the last two days ahead of Saturday evening’s clash. There was no confirmation as to whether either player will start at the weekend, however following the struggles of Nicolas Otamendi against Wolves, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to many if Stones came straight into the side.
There was some encouraging news on the topic of Sergio Aguero, following his scare in midweek. The Argentine striker avoided injury in a car crash on Wednesday morning in Hale, on his way to training. Guardiola confirmed the striker is ‘fine’, however his Range Rover is ‘not fine’.
