Manchester City target Napoli defender for summer 2020 transfer

Manchester City are lining up a move for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, but not until the summer of 2020, as reported by Goal and relayed by CalcioMercato

The Senegalese defender has attracted plenty of potential suitors since his move to the Naples-based club in 2014, playing over 150 Serie A matches and commanding a price tag of more than £100million.

Manchester City’s defensive issues this campaign have been well documented, having lost Aymeric Laporte and John Stones to injury and Vincent Kompany to a player-manager role at his first club RSC Anderlecht in the summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola has reportedly identified 28-year-old Koulibaly as the solution to any future crisis he may face, with current absentees meaning that the Citizens have shipped 11 goals in 8 Premier League games so far this season.
