That’s All Folks – The Transfer Round Up (08/08/19)

Transfer Deadline Day is upon us! Like many others in recent years, it’s looking like a quiet one for the Blues. The major incomings have been completed, with just a few loose ends to tie up before the season begins!

Sané Deal Off?

Due to fluid in Leroy Sané’s knee following his injury Sunday, it has been difficult for City’s medical team to get an idea of the severity of the situation. Throughout the week rumours have been coming out that it might be worse than initially thought after the match, and Sam Lee of The Athletic says that the club fears there has been damage to his ACL. Further tests are taking place, and the German media seem to be fearing the worst.

Christian Falk incorrectly relayed Sam Lee’s information this morning by stating that Sané had torn his ACL, rather than damaged, something The Athletic writer was not too happy about. As well, BILD have come out this afternoon to report that Sané has suffered an ACL injury in his right knee, and will be out for several months after undergoing an operation for the issue. It is said to be unclear whether this development will force Bayern Munich into dropping their pursuit of the German winger.

City made an official announcement today that Sané has damage to his ACL. He will undergo a procedure this week and further tests will take place to further identify the extent of the injury.

Speedy recovery Leroy, we hope to see you back in a blue shirt as soon as possible!

Scott Carson the New Richard Wright?

After Claudio Bravo completed his recovery, Aro Muric was sent out on loan early this summer to Nottingham Forest. The club believed he needed consistent game time to continue his development, with the keeper being highly valued. With that, the search for the club’s third choice keeper has been on, and it looks like City have finally found their man. Derby County keeper Scott Carson has officially joined the club today on a one-year loan deal.

Welcome to the club Scott!

Another Fullback!

If Cancelo wasn’t already enough, City are still keeping their eyes out for more fullbacks, and might have found one for the future. Pedro Porro has completed a move from Girona for a fee in the region of £11 million. The Spanish youngster will join Rayo Valladolid in La Liga for the upcoming campaign.

Good luck Pedro!

Bolton Looking for Experience

Luton Town have taken Luke Bolton in a season-long loan deal. This came originally from Football Insider, who states that a number of clubs had registered interest in the youngster, but Luton have moved swiftly to acquire his services. City feel another loan move is the next stage in Bolton’s development, and are looking for him to return next summer and challenge for a spot in the first-team squad.

Good luck down south Luke, and see you next year!
