Ju Can Have Him – The Transfer Round-Up (03/07/19)

Good Evening Blues! As the boys finish up preparations for tomorrow’s match, we bring you the latest transfer news, including more on Cancelo’s potential move to the Etihad, Sané’s possible transfer to Bayern Munich, and Lukas Nmecha gets his loan move!

Pep Gets His Man?

The João Cancelo deal seem to be moving at a rapid pace. City’s patience with trying to make Danilo part of the deal seems like it might be about to pay off. According to La Repubblica and TuttoJuve, the offer has been set at €35 million along with the Brazilian’s services. This looks like it might be the happy middle ground each side has been looking for, with both clubs eager to finalise a deal. Manchester City have requested to postpone negotiations until after the Community Shield match against Liverpool tomorrow, via TuttoSport, but it is believed that a deal will be pushed through early next week. Juventus Sporting Director Fabio Paratici met with Danilo’s representatives in Turin earlier, and have come to an agreement – a deal worth €4.5 million a year until 2024. This deal appeases everyone involved. Pep Guardiola gets a player he has ‘long wanted’, Cancelo gets a move to England with a team that ‘represents at the highest levels’, Juventus put themselves in a better financial position, and Danilo gets a more significant role in a big club.

Nicolò Schira, Fabrizio Romano, and Sport Mediaset via Forza Juventus have all backed up reports from earlier. It seems set that the figure stands at €35 million in addition to Danilo, and the last details of the deal are being finalised before the player’s make their moves after Sunday’s match! Cancelo’s agent Jorge Mendes could accompany Paratici in attending the match, according to Sky Sports.

Late updates from both the Daily Mail and Nicolo Schira stated that the deal is actually all confirmed. Fabio Paratici will meet with Txiki Begiristain in London following the Community Shield to finalise the deal.

Should this deal go through, Cancelo would represent a massive upgrade, and will put a ton of pressure on Kyle Walker for the starting spot in the side. They are two very different fullbacks, so it should be fascinating to see how Guardiola will utilise the two of them.

Sané Limbo

We are going around and around over and over trying to find out if Leroy Sané will return home to Germany. Reports in England and his native land are polar opposites at the moment, and it’s a bit difficult to determine which ones are more accurate. Coming from Germany today, Bayern’s puppet – oh I mean Christian Falk of BILD – reports that while the €100 million figure being reported will not be enough to entice City to sell, the €150 million valuation coming from England is also incorrect. However, Sané has decided that he wants to join Bayern, which is a deciding factor in the matter.

According to Sané’s closest family circle, the move to Bayern Munich is done, with an unveiling potentially set up for Wednesday. This comes from the Express this morning, who add that the hold up in the deal has been salary discussions between the sides. This has finally been agreed upon though, meeting at the €15 million mark per year.

Tomorrow will be a very telling day as to where we are at in this situation. Reports state that Sané will not feature in the Community Shield Match, to avoid any potential injury that would prevent the transfer. The player has been spotted traveling with the squad to London, however, so we will just have to wait for the team news tomorrow afternoon!

Good Luck Lukas!

Speaking of returning to home countries, this is exactly what Lukas Nmecha is doing this season, after he finalised a loan move to Wolfsburg! Nmecha enjoyed a good preseason with City and had this to say about his move:

“It’s been my aim to play in the Bundesliga and in my home country for some time.
I’m pleased that this move has come off because everything is in place to further my development at the highest level and realise my full potential.”

Good luck Lukas, see you soon!
