The Final Pre-season Game – The Transfer Round-Up (26/07/19)

Good Evening Blues! The season is fast approaching, and Pep Guardiola was tight lipped on any potential incomings that might happen before the Premier League gets under way. Here’s the latest on the transfer news!

It’s all heating up

Bayern Munich have finally opened talks for Leroy Sané. Yes, you heard that right, finally! According to Darren Lewis of the Mirror, the Bavarian side have only just started negotiations for the £90 million man.

This may be down to a decision from the player himself or a green light from his representatives, but it does seem like this saga is finally heading towards a conclusion. Despite this major development, his club next season is still in doubt, considering we haven’t heard much in the way of a decision from Sane.

Alves on the Search for His Next Club

Dani Alves is enjoying a nice holiday after is heroics for Brazil in their Copa America triumph. He has not made a decision yet on where he would like to play next season, according to Sport via Sport Witness. Funnily enough, the player’s most likely destinations are Manchester City and Juventus, and a big factor in that will be the future of João Cancelo. City’s current plan is to sign Alves if a deal for Cancelo fails to materialise, but also could use it to their advantage and end their interest in the Portuguese right back and sign Alves on a free. A lot of pieces still have a chance to move yet before this window closes.

Pep Guardiola was asked about Dani Alves in his pre-match interview today, where he was full of praise for the Brazilian, labeling him “incredible and extraordinary”, via Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News. However, Guardiola stressed that City already have two “incredible fullbacks”.

Still Looking for Cancelo Updates!

Because don’t worry, we’ve got them! Juventus are still looking for a buyer for João Cancelo this summer, and a move to Manchester City is becoming “more and more probable”, according to TuttoJuve. Juventus are already lining up Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian as the replacement for the Portuguese international.

Good Luck Yangel!

Manchester City and Granada CF have reached an agreement on a season-long loan for midfielder Yangel Herrera. The transfer includes an option for Granada to buy at the end of the loan to make the move permanent when his City contract expires. Best of luck Yangel!

Youth Developments

West Ham U18 left back Joshua Wilson-Esbrand is set to join Manchester City, according to well known Twitter account ExWHUEmployee. The 16-year-old made 15 appearances with the U18s last season.

Portimonense have found an agreement with Manchester City for a season-long loan of winger Marlos Moreno, according to Record Portugal via Sport Witness. The 22-year-old is still looking to find his feet with a club since joining Manchester City.
